In the spirit of the new year, this month we’re heading to The Springs, LA’s newest urban oasis for everything wellness and health related. Designed by Design, Bitches and located in the changing-by-the-second Arts District, The Springs features an organic juice bar, yoga studio, wellness center, raw vegan restaurant and wine bar. In other words, the health-conscious hub truly lives up to its eco-vegan-mind-body-one-stop-shop motto!

So, whether your resolutions are wellness-leaning or not, join us for a tour with the team behind The Springs. We’ll hear from co-founders Jared Stein and Kimberly Helms who will explain the genesis behind their vision as well as their many offerings, which also include a rotating community space with a pop-up by Atomic Garden and a retail store outside the yoga studio. And we’ll hear from Rebecca Rudolph and Catherine Johnson of Design, Bitches about the conversion and design of the 13,500 square foot space, which the New York Times has called “a beacon of change in the form of an organic juice bar and cafe plus yoga studio and spa with infrared saunas, jade-stone therapy and an in-house horticulturalist.” The pair were inspired by the idea of a desert oasis and have incorporated everything from wall-slung bicycle racks to a maze of indoor planters and small LEDs overhead that give off a moon-like glow.

Afterward, everyone is encouraged to stay for lunch, take a yoga class, do some shopping – or all three!

About The Springs
At The Springs, we believe that health and pleasure can and should be one and the same. We acknowledge that true happiness stems from a deep sense of integrity with our bodies, with each other, and with the earth. We honor this sentiment by providing 100% organic raw vegan cuisine, joyous libations, holistic wellness treatments, integrated yoga and movement programming, sustainable practices, and most importantly – a space for community gathering.

The Springs is our holistic home and we invite you to join us, enjoy, and become a part of this urban oasis.

About Design, Bitches
We aim to inspire across disciplinary lines and engage the habitable world through our appropriations and innovations. We value the poignant & the ridiculous. We reveal the oddities, the quirks & imperfections that break the monotony of daily life. The future is not narrowly defined, but open-ended. Architecture should be able to be assembled by the user at times- be inspired by high technology but accomplished by low-tech craft. It should be affordable, and remain crafty utilizing a range of skilled and unskilled labor. Design, Bitches accept responsibility for our environment and our relationship to society, we strive for the biodegradable.
